Fallen Cappari
Fallen Cappari are those who have been exiled from cappari society, or willingly severed their connection to Halcyon. In order to collect enough life energy to survive they become introvores- instead of passively absorbing life energy given off by others, they must hunt other living things for the life energy to stay alive, similar to vampires. Many opt to drain some life energy from a thing without completely depleting it to let it go free, but others may not. While the initial transition does take a toll on their bodies, all cappari will cope differently. Ascended cappari are instructed to kill Fallen on sight. However, some will turn a blind eye and choose to leave them be, especially if they were friends or siblings pre-fall. |
How to get one
Fallen cappari can be obtained via applying Betrayal of Halcyon item to a cappari, OR by giving a cappari the shadowbound affintity. If they have this affinity, it allows you to convert them to fallen.
Ranks
Fallen cappari have stages of growth/descent mirroring what non-fallen cappari experience. They typically grow larger with each stage, ie. an abaddon's body is more elongated than an imp's, with a larger body-to-head-ratio.

Behavior & Anatomy
When a cappari's connection to halcyon is severed, its halo shatters and the first physical change is its eyes. Its pupils become much stranger than normal cappari.
Newly fallen cappari are physically & emotionally worn-out, as it takes time for their bodies & minds to adjust. Recovery can take from anywhere between 3 months to 3 years. Some fallen cappari cope with the change well, and others not so well. Their physical form changes depending on their health & how well they are coping. Some fallens keep their original demeanor, while others experience drastic personality changes. |

Cappari society debates if it's possible to categorize fallen cappari into Civilized and Beastial, as some fallen don't lose their intelligence, while others become more animalistic. However, the distinction between them is not always clear enough in practice- some fallen present civilized in passing, but their true nature can be very different.
