Intro(pronounced Drah-jin)
When an object is loved by someone, it becomes filled with a special energy. Drajin are dragon-like, shapeshifting spirits that attach themselves to a cherished object belonging to someone, and use that energy to make a physical form for themselves. When they do, they are bound to the object. Drajin will take on visual & behavioral characteristics of the object they're bound to. They are able to magically take refuge inside of an object, so you might not be able to tell a regular object from a Drajin-bound one just by looking at it. |
A drajin bound to a scarf may feel the need to sit around around someone's neck to keep them warm, and a drajin bound to a boot may prefer walking to flying. The nature of the object, the beliefs of its owner, and original owner’s feelings toward the object shape the Drajin’s personality. They may be settled or nomadic depending on the nature of their object. Some Drajin seek out companions, while others prefer to live alone.
Drajin can shapeshift to bigger & more complex versions of themselves, though their colors stay mostly the same. Most have a preferred size; the ideal size to protect their object. |
About Bound Objects
The first rule of bound objects is that a Drajin must protect their object at all costs. If the object is damaged it weakens the drajin, and if it is irreparably broken, they are forced to give up their physical form and return to the spirit realm.
Drajin cannot inhabit something with its own life force, ie plants, animals, and humans. They will choose objects that won't degrade quickly and could last for decades or centuries. The exception would be if these things were visibly sealed or protected in a container (ie. a pressed flower in a locket, an insect suspended in amber) Large objects which have been loved by many are less common and more difficult to bind with than small objects loved by one. To become bound to a large object, a spirit must be particularly strong or willful. Drajin who have successfully bound themselves to large objects like statues or monuments are rarer and more powerful, but are less mobile as they cannot travel too far from their stationary object. Levian is a huge drajin because its object, the Leviathan Chest, is a well-known legend among treasure hunters and seafarers.

Design Rules
Drajin design submissions have to fit with the species, and be be dragon-like. They can resemble other animals, ie. a dog-looking dragon, but must look dragon-like. Following the rules will push your design in a dragon-like direction, but we can't predict every creative decision that may make something look too different from a drajin, so we may ask for other changes if we don't feel your design fits with the species.

Build Examples
Heads
The heads on the left are small form heads. These are just some examples to give you an idea of what's allowed.
- Drajin heads must have a muzzle/snout. Muzzle/snout can't be too small.
- Things may fall outside of the examples here, so head appearance is judged on a case-by-case basis. If you're confused or unsure about your design, you can dm a mod in the discord.
Traits
Traits can be styled in a variety of ways so long as they resemble the trait and fit within its rules (ie. antlers can have 3, 5, 11+ prongs, up to you!)
Textures
Textures can apply anywhere on the drajin's body. Vial is transparent and hollow, and can hold material inside ie. liquid, sand, etc. Stone can also be similar materials like marble, but can't be crystal. Elemental is when the drajin's body is made out of an affinity element, like fire or water. Digital can have electronic components and changing display screens.
Horns
All Drajin must have horns/a horn on the top area of their head. Horn traits can be stacked, and can be any size, so long as they're visible. Any horn style can have a smooth or textured surface.
Spines can go from the forehead to the tail. They can be on the head so long as they cannot be confused for multihorn or nose horn - their horns and spines must have a clear size/design difference between them, and spines must be in a connected line.
Antlers are double horns that have 3+ branches. Very small spines/bumps on the horns that count as texture do not count as branches.
Uni and Multi horns can have up to 2 branches and can be stacked with antler trait to have more.

Wings
Drajin wings can be a variety of styles and can be stacked. Wingless is common. You can use any other styles not listed here, but please note new styles will be able to be used by other players also. Wyvern wings replace the arms, and multi wing allows you to have between 2 and 6 pairs of wings placed anywhere on the body (ears do not count towards this number) Fairy Wing and Leviathan wing are event traits that are not drajin-specific.
Tails
All tails must have a wide base regardless of their length (think wide like a crocodile's tail base, and not thin/small like a bunny's)
Common tails can be other styles not pictured here. Multi-tail gives you between 2 and 9 tails.

Extras
This section showcases extra traits for other parts of the body which can be styled how you like within the rules.
Wyrm allows the drajin to show or hide their arms or legs, but can't be used on drajin with talons or hooves.
Flippers are similar to a penguin or dolphin's flippers. A puff sac is inflatable, like a frog's throat. It can be around the neck or on the cheeks.
Shell can be any style of shell; turtle, snail, etc. Drajin with talons or hooves can only have them appearing on 2 legs (ie front legs paws, back legs hooved) They can have EITHER the Talons or Hooves trait, but not both simultaneously.
Drajin with Multilimb can have up to 5 pairs of limbs total.
